Christopher Peter Meloni is an American actor and is famous as a character actor in the cult TV series Law & Order Special Victims Unit. His interest in acting began at the time of his college years. He studied acting at University of Colorado at Boulder. Though he has been active on both television and films it is his characters on the small screen that earned him a cult admirers. He has been able to seamlessly play characters that are on both sides legal system and draw the public's focus. The first show he worked on was a TV serial and he then stepped into his role as an NYPD detective. The small screen performances of his were recognized by multiple Emmy Awards nominations and PRISM Awards. The most appealing feature of his face is thought to be the blue eyes that pierce his face. They are considered to be a distinctive feature and are credited with the portrayal of rough characters that have charisma. In 2006, he appeared on People's publication's Sexiest Men Alive list.
