Christopher Peter Meloni is an American actor and is famous for his roles in well-known television series 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. From his early college days, Meloni was interested in the field of acting. After that, he attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. He was also active on TV and film but his performances on the small screen have earned him a lot of recognition. He is able to play characters from both the bad and good side in the law enforcement system. He can capture the audiences attention with ease. He played the part of a serial killer in his debut television show however he later chose to take on the role of an NYPD detective. In recognition of his performance on tiny screens, he's been awarded numerous nominations for the prestigious Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. He is known for his blue-piercing eyes, which have become an iconic feature and have helped to portray tough characters with charisma. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
