Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar was the American and British sitar artist. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield in the year of her youngest and the first female to receive it. In addition to the nine Grammy awards and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the first musician of Indian origin to be a presenter and performer at the award ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is a rising star on sitar music. Indian sitar. She is a scholar and daughter of the legendary Ravi Shankar. She was born 1982 in London. The first few years of her life included a period of time in London and New Delhi. She gave her debut performance on stage in New Delhi at the tender 13 years old. Then she relocated to Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha's career as a performer and recorder is quite impressive, in spite of her youth. She regularly performs together with her dad, and has done so for a long time years. The singer released Anourag her debut album on her own in 1998. It was followed by Live at Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album two years after. The stage work she has done is extensive for she has appeared in all of the major stages in the world. Anoushka isn't only a singer. Bapi The of My Life of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she starred as a character in Dance Like a Man as an actress and Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka shankar is a rising celebrity and her popularity will continue to grow. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent much of her early years in London and Delhi then moving to California where she attended the high school. When she was nine years old, she began studying music under her father. She made her first on the sitar four years later during his 75th birthday celebration in Delhi. Anoushka was able to gain a great deal of experience by touring across the globe along with the father. She played in Carnegie Hall in her teenage period, as well as recorded for George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. She was the first woman to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, presented by British Parliament in recognition of her musical talent and artistic ability within the Asian Arts.
